TPL's Will Rogers Blogs for Huffington Post: Health Care and City Parks

This week, TPL's president, Will Rogers joined the Huffington Post green section's line-up of opinion shapers, leading with a subject that has received great scrutiny of late: the health benefits of city parks. Recent TPL research includes a poll conducted by Harris interactive and the Center for City Park Excellence's newest annual report, City Park Facts, a collection of statistics on acreage, spending and other information on parks in the nation's 77 largest cities. Both show that parks are important to families, cities, and human health and support Rogers' observation that while park funding may seem logical to cut during an economic downturn, just the opposite is true.
